The Brown women’s basketball team put in hard work on and off the court this past season, but the team’s work with the Tomorrow Fund has helped raise over $7,700 to help children with cancer and their families.

The Tomorrow Fund is a local non-profit organization that provides daily financial and emotional support to children with cancer and their families who are treated in The Tomorrow Fund Clinic. The clinic is located in the Edwin Forman Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence.
For nearly two years, Brown senior captain Sophie Bikofsky has been volunteering in the clinic’s playroom every week, forming special bonds with many of the young boys and girls receiving treatment.  Bikofsky created this fundraiser with the hope of helping these strong and courageous children, as well as their families that must endure these daily emotional and financial burdens.
From the time of diagnosis throughout the entire course of treatment, The Tomorrow Fund is there to help with monetary and emotional support for families that are in critical need. To date, more then 1,500 children and their families have received financial and emotional support from The Tomorrow Fund.
Bikofsky and her teammates each sent out a letter to their friends and families, asking them to pledge money to the cause.  These donations and sponsorships were based on the point totals from all of the twenty-eight games the Bears played this season, with each point garnering a donation of 10 cents.
