John Rice (Bay State Jaguars Girls’ Coach)

  • Played at UMASS Boston – Known as one of the best point guards among small college players in New England, Rice finished his career with 1,718 points and 450 assists, averaging 17 points and 4.5 assists in 101 games, while owning a career field goal percentage of .473 (632-1334). He is the only men’s basketball player in the program’s history to have his jersey retired and still holds single-season records for free throws made (153) and free throw attempts (215).

  • Four-year player at Merrimack, appearing in 108 career games at forward for the Warriors averaging 10.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, helping his teams to a 70-44 record on his career including two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2009, 2010)
  • Member of Merrimack’s 500-rebound club, amassing 553 on his career to rank 11th in program history
  • Member of the Cape Verde National Team (2013)
  • Played professionally for Escazu Basketball in Costa Rica, where he also became involved in youth clinics in the area

Kailyn Aguiar (Bay State Jaguars Coach)

  • Graduate of Bridgewater State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in exercise science

  • As a senior captain, earned two consecutive weeks of MASCAC player of the week, NEWBA weekly honor roll and first team honors on the All-MASCAC team
